Sr. Process Development Engineer

Qualifications: Great opportunity to use your creativity and knowledge of process development in the paper industry. Be part of the development team for a leading producer of specialty and fine papers. Looking for someone with the capability of helping to recognize and develop process changes to produce product changes.

Requirements:

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering preferred, will consider Masters degree with compensating experience, in Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrated creativity in process development that has led to concrete business results.
• Ability to cultivate a network of suppliers, vendors, lead customers, National Labs, and academia to further research and development goals.
• 4-8 years of experience in related activities.
• Ability to work effectively on an independent basis, as well as in a team environment with a proven track record of thoroughness, ability to complete assignments in a timely manner, and concrete business/project results.
• Demonstrated skills with regard to the application of technology to meet business needs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of fiber development, papermaking, coating and finishing equipment preferred.
• Stays current on technology development in the fields listed above.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to lead others and develop subordinates.
• Must be able to travel.

Technical Marketing / Application Specialists- 2 positions

Qualifications: A global leader in customized product solutions to manufacturers has openings in their technology center to provide world-class technical service to two markets. The successful candidates will hold a BS in Chemistry, Engineering or Polymer Science, plus have 5 years experience in emulsion polymer chemistries and product application. Knowledge of TSCA and related EPA regulations for polymer manufacturing and ability to partner with Marketing and Manufacturing at all project stages is key. Will be supporting the sales group-- willingness to travel up to 40% is required.

Adhesives:

· Must have experience with pressure sensitive adhesives, tape, films and labels
· Knowledge of adhesive characterization techniques: DMA, GPC, DSC & Rheology
· Skilled in formulating PSA’s or polymers

Nonwovens:

· Must have experience in nonwoven areas: wipes, high loft and filtration
· Solid track record in formulating, resin bonding and commercializing polymer products for nonwoven applications
· Formal Project Management Training

Product Development - Paper

Qualifications: This Research & Development position will involve technology development as it relates to all aspects of stock prep and fiber development, wet end chemistry, and base sheet manufacture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

fiber selection and development
wet end chemistry development including drainage & retention components
provide support & technical leadership to strategic projects
coordinate & execute complex manufacturing trials
lead & participate in cost reduction & product development initiatives
work with manufacturing & develop performance specs for fiber & wet end raw materials

REQUIREMENTS:

BS or MS: Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper, or Chemistry
4-8 years in a manufacturing or R&D environment, preferably coated paper
demonstrated skills with regard to the application of technology developments leading to commercialization &/or business development
solid knowledge of papermaking equipment and process chemistry & their impact on base paper quality
