Environmental Project Scientist in ME

Currently seeking an environmental scientist  who can support  investigation and remediation programs.   Will perform Phase I and Phase II site assessments.   Position is approximately 70% field work and 30% office work on industrial, commercial and federal sites.

Responsibilities typically include research, data collection, documentation and reporting in accordance with state and federal environmental regulations. Review and interpretation of results and preparation of reports and plans will be required.

Technical assignments could include the performance, coordination or management of exploratory drilling, soil excavation, soil and groundwater sampling, soil vapor and indoor air sampling, surveying, and general site reconnaissance.

Remedial assignments may include the evaluation, selection and design of alternatives for soil and groundwater remediation, supervision of the installation of soil, groundwater and soil vapor remediation systems, including system monitoring and maintenance.

Additional responsibilities may involve overseeing subcontractors.

Additional requirements:

  • Overnight travel to locations in Northeastern US is anticiapated to be 50 to 70 %.
  • BS in geology, environmental science, or related discipline.
  • 0 to 2 + years experience with environmental field projects.
  • 40 hour HazWoper OSHA Training desired.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Report writing skills are essential.
